Las Vegas - COWBOYS all around!!!
Putting on the bowling shoes for a look at Wyoming vs. Toledo in the Arizona Bowl. If you just handicapped strictly on won-loss records, then Toledo at 11-2 should smoke an 8-4 Wyoming squad. HOLD ON a second please. The Rockets from Ohio built the 11-2 record on the arm of QB Dequan Finn and the legs of RB Peny Boone, the Offensive Player of the Year in the Mid-American Conference. Boone gobbled up 1,400 yards with 15 TDs. Finn was brilliant this season, hitting on 201 of 317 for 2,657 yards with 22 TDs. So, between Dequan and Peny, Toledo put 37 TDs on the board. However, BOTH GUYS WILL NOT PLAY! The Rockets will use backup QB Tucker Gleason who has thrown just 14 passes this year. OUCH! On the other side of the field, the QB for the Cowboys, Andrew Peasley, has been EN FUEGO the last two games, hitting on 26 of 35 passes (74.5%) for 484 yards with 5 TDs and ZERO INTs. And the last piece of this puzzle revolves around Wyoming head coach Craig Bohl who will retire after this game. Bohl has been the head coach in Laramie for 10 years and his kids are totally jacked to send him off to the golf course with a big fat win. Instead of 'win one for the Gipper,' the theme here is, 'win the bowl for BOHL!
Gonna throw some NFL numbers at you for tonight's game which should make it easier to make the right wager. Looking at the Cowboys first. Not sure why, but they are pitching a 7-0 PERFECTO at home, while struggling to a 3-5 record on the road. And the 7-0 perfecto at home has been easy-peezy, with the 'Boys winning by an average of 24 points per game. Yea, TWENTY FOUR POINTS PER! Love what Dan Campbell is doing in Detroit and look forward to seeing 'em in the playoffs, but before we get too crazy, lemme hit you with some stuff from the Lions work this season. Yes, they have put 11 wins on the board, but ONLY three of those Ws have come against teams with winning records. The last time Dallas lost two in a row, back in October, they roared back in the next game with a 43-20 win over the Rams, of course, AT HOME. The Cowboys have clinched a playoff spot but nobody wants to close the season with a three game losing streak in the final month. Gimme the 'Boys for the money.
