Las Vegas - TIME CHANGE...Due to possible inclement weather, the game in Cleveland has been moved back from an 8:08 (ET) evening start to an afternoon slot at 1:08 (ET).

If you were not around for my game two pick in the Detroit/Cleveland series, lemme throw some Tarik Skubal numbers at you. Skubal went seven innings, all BAGELS, allowing only three hits with a side dish of eight Ks. With the last start of the season and the playoff win against the Astros, he has now thrown TWENTY innings worth of BAGELS. And if you want his numbers in two starts against the Guardians this season, gotcha. How about 14 innings, 1 earned run (0.64 ERA) with 14 Ks. Cleveland has just announced its starter and it looks like Matthew Boyd is now trending. Boyd threw four innings worth of bagels at the Tigers in game two, but he has not made it past the fourth inning in his last four starts. We know that the Guardians bullpen is outstanding, but how you gonna beat the BAGEL KING. Throwing my chips and a schmear of cream cheese at Skubal and the Tigers.

UH OH! Just found out that Detroit's superb RF Kerry Carpenter will be OUT with a hamstring! YUGE loss for the Tigers. Carpenter has the highest batting average on the team at .284, the second most home runs (18) and third most RBI (57). Now we gotta just sit back and watch.

A little evening college football action in Boulder, Colorado where we're gonna tickle the Buffaloes over Kansas State.

Thinking this game is gonna boil down to the arms, so lets compare quarterbacks. Colorado's Shedeur Sanders is much more tasty than Kansas State's Avery Johnson. Sanders has completed 138 of 197 (70%) for 1,630 yards, with 14 TDs and just 3 INTs. Johnson has completed 77 of 126 (61%) for 879 yards, with 9 TDs and 4 INTs. Advantage Shedeur.

There will be chunks of yards gobbled up on the ground by the Wildcats, but this game will be won in the air. And after we looked at K-State's work against the pass, Shedeur should be smiling from ear to ear. The Wildcats gave up 342 air yards to Tulane, 268 yards to Arizona, 149 yards to BYU (but the Cougars just threw 15 passes) and a gigantic 364 yards last week to the Cowboys from Stillwater. Bank of Benj is expecting a close contest with multiple points and a last minute FG to decide the game, so we're on the Buffs. We bought the game at +4.5 earlier in the week, but it's now down to +3.5. Still like Colorado, but it ain't gonna be a stampede of Ecks money.
