Las Vegas - Opening my wallet down in Houston to start the day and the good news is the Texans are on a 6-0 roll against AFC South. But the bad news is, they just beat their hated intrastate rival Dallas. How much will that impact this game is my concern. Every player and coach was JACKED UP for the Cowboys and now they entertain a team, a bottom-feeder, that they have whipped three times in a row and comes limping in with that ugly 2-8 record. So the answer is, we like Houston but not thrilled about laying the 8.5 points. So, just like we did in the Monday nighter, we took the Texans to win the 1st half at -4, and we're ALL OVER that bet again. If you wanna jump on the 1st half money line as well, we would not be upset. After doing the proper research, we can tell you that the Texans have hit the money line in 10 of 11 games in the 1st half this season.
C'mon out to my neighborhood for a look at the Broncos vs. Raiders. One of the reasons that we were a bit skeptical about the Broncos coming into the season was the fact that Sean Payton was giving rookie Bo Nix the keys to the car. We loved Nix in his last two years at Oregon, but the concern was, would it translate to the NFL. Bo was RIDONKULOUS with the Ducks, completing passes at a 74% clip. And even though he didn't win the Heisman, his numbers were off the chain last year. He hit on 364 of 470 (77.4%) for 4,508 yards with 45 freakin' TDs and only 3 INTs. And he still only came third in the Heisman Trophy voting behind Jayden Daniels and Michael Penix. We can tell you that it looks like his transition to the NFL is coming along just fine. Denver is sitting at 6-5, but Bo is humming. And last week was ENORMOUS. He shredded the Atlanta defense, completing 28 of 33, which my calculator tells me is 84.9%, for 307 yards with FOUR TDs and ZERO INTs. In his game against the Raiders, Nix was on the money, hitting 19 of 27 (70.4%) for 206 yards, with 2 TDs and 0 INTs. So, Bo KNOWS!
