Las Vegas - After getting a week off, the Chiefs host the Texans in a rematch of a December game that Kaycee won 27-19. Over the last five seasons, Kansas City has been PHENOMENAL at home in the playoffs, winning 11 of 12 at Arrowhead Stadium. Of course all eyes will be on Patrick Mahomes, because he is Patrick Mahomes, but the defense has been the real story this season. They have been VERY stingy and were rock solid in the December win against the Texans. Not thrilled about laying 8.5 points, but it's worth a tickle. And if RB Joe Mixon is out for Houston, then a tickle becomes ALL IN with both hands!
In the late game, everyone loves the Lions but we're going in the other direction. Why? Maybe the best rookie QB we have seen in like forever. Jayden Daniels won a Heisman Trophy, WILL win Rookie of the Year and could pull a W out of his helmet up in Motown. His numbers this season are not as crazy as Lamar Jackson, but close. Last week against Tampa, he hit on 24 of 35 (68.6%) for 268 yards with 2 TDs and 0 INTs. He also scrambled for 36 yards. But the issue is, the Commanders lack of a solid rushing game. However, Detroit has a ton of injuries on the defensive side, which is why we're leaning toward Daniels for the cover.
Of course, if you're a little conflicted, then you can turn to a sweet two team 6-point teaser. Take both home teams down from -8.5 to -2.5 points and all they need to do is win by a field goal.
