preakness 2
Las Vegas - Flying over to England for the FA Cup Final at Wembley, and will throw out a delicious Over/Under prop on the Chelsea/Leicester City match. And we're going Under 3.5 goals which will be a hefty price, around -$350, but your bank account will be smiling. Since these two play a very tight conservative game, gonna drop some coin on a draw/draw at +$400. For those soccer betting newbies, that would be a draw at halftime, and a draw after 90 minutes of regulation time.
So we head to Pimlico Race Course in Maryland, for the 144th running of the Preakness Stakes, and my horse guru, Martin Calia has everything you need. You have the floor Marty.
The second jewel of the Triple Crown is not without controversy. The Derby winner, Medina Spirit, tested positive for betamethasome which is a corticosteriod. If the split blood test returns positive again he could be stripped of the Derby win. However, he will run in the Preakness.
So, if you can get past all the noise, then the Preakness is a great opportunity to make some cash!
I've settled on four horses and they are:
#2 Keepmeinmind - this horse was dead last (19th) around the track until the three quarter pole, pulled out at the top of the stretch and made up 10 lengths to finish 8th, a quarter of a length off #5 Midnight Bourbon who seems to be the "wiseguy horse."
#3 Medina Spirit - the Derby winner got to the lead and never looked back. It was a gritty performance and even though he has won his races on the lead, he is probably the most accomplished horse in this field.
#7 France Go de Ina - this Kentucky bred is making his U.S. debut. He had a tough trip in the UAE Derby in his only race this year. However, he was 2 for 3 as a two year old in Japan. He worked over the track several days ago and retains top jock Joel Rosario. If Joel sees fit to ride him again maybe he knows something we don't, and that's good enough for me.
#10 Concert Tour - the other Baffert runner has won his races on the lead too. Tour might be faster but has post 10 compared with post 3 for Spirit. If it is a speed dual, it only makes the trip better for the #2 and #7.
This is how we will bet the race:
A $4 four horse exacta box: 2-3-7-10, which will cost $24.
A $2 four horse trifecta box: 2-3-7-10, which will cost $48.
A $2 four horse superfecta box: 2-3-7-10, which will cost $48.
These box bets will cost you a total of $120 bones.
My win bets will be $20 to win/place/show on #2 and #7 for a total of $120.
Total bets $240.
Good luck!
