Las Vegas - Ventured out of the house for the first time in six weeks, and went to a friends house to pick up some stuff. Not gonna get into the "stuff" that I picked up, but my guy is a sports nut and likes to throw down. He just moved into his new joint with a gorgeous patio and a million dollar view overlooking Lake Mead. His living room was NFL-ready with a YUMUNGOUS 84" flat screen in the center, and two smaller screens, one on top of the other, on the right side. My guy normally woulda had the NBA playoffs on the big screen, the Stanley Cup top right, and MLB bottom right. My guy would have two cell phones on the couch with four sportsbook mobile apps on each. My guy would be pounding pre-game, in-game and future bets.
Of course, nothing like that exists at the moment, so, guess what was on the screens? The big boy screen had ping pong from Russia, specifically, Viktor Rakhmanov vs. Zhasur Khudaiberdiev. My guy could not pronounce either name, but told me that he heard Rakhmanov was the right side. I rolled my eyes so hard they almost popped out of my head.
Top right screen had Taipower vs. Red Lions in the Taiwan Premier Soccer League. My guy mentioned that he knew a guy, who knew a guy in Taipei that handicapped the TPSL, and told him that Taipower was the side. My guy had to pay the handicapper $2993 New Taiwan Dollars for the information. Sounds excessive but that would be just $100 US dollars.
Turned out the investment was solid as a rock, as Taipower DESTROYED the Red Lions, 6-1.
Bottom right screen was showing baseball, also from Taiwan, with the Rakuten Monkeys vs. the Chinatrust Brothers. My guy decided to use the same handicapper in Taiwan, paid him another $2993 NTD and was advised to play Rakuten at -$165, and parlay it to the Under, which was set at 14.5 runs. The Monkeys won 9-3 and the total went Under. Winner winner chicken dinner. If anyone is interested in my NEW best friend, the Taiwanese handicapper, you can Email me, ben@americasline.com, and I'll send you his number. Can't divulge his real name, because I am now a client, but lets just say, his middle name is, Yingde. Just check Google for the translation and you'll see why this guy is worth a long distance phone call.
