Los Angeles got 31 points and 14 rebounds from Anthony Davis en route to a 104-99 victory over New Orleans on Saturday at Smoothie King Center.
Los Angeles did not, however, defeat the Pelicans against the spread, which closed at -8.0 at most sportsbooks. Totals bettors, meanwhile, saw the game go UNDER the closing number of 220.5.
Los Angeles got 27 points from Dalton Knecht and another 21 points from LeBron James. Austin Reaves contributed 7 assists, while Anthony Davis cleaned the glass with 14 rebounds.
New Orleans got 32 points from Brandon Ingram in a losing cause and another 16 points from Jaylen Nowell. Brandon Ingram contributed 8 assists for the Pelicans, while Jeremiah Robinson-Earl had 9 rebounds.
Los Angeles trailed at halftime, 56-46.
New Orleans had a 50-43 advantage in the rebounding department as they won the battle in the paint.
Los Angeles looks to continue their winning ways next game with a battle against the Jazz. The Pelicans will aim to get back on the winning track at Dallas.
