Northwestern Defeats Minnesota 81-61 - Recap
The battle between Northwestern and Minnesota didn’t turn out to be much of a battle at all as Minnesota was handed a 81-61 defeat on Saturday at Welsh-Ryan Arena.
Northwestern won and also put money in the pockets of their supporters by covering the -12.5-point spread as favorites.
Northwestern got 24 points from Chase Audige and another 21 points from Boo Buie. Boo Buie contributed 8 assists, while Brooks Barnhizer cleaned the glass with 5 rebounds.
Minnesota got a 20-point performance from Jamison Battle, who was supported by 12 points from Ta'Lon Cooper. Ta'Lon Cooper had 5 assists in a losing cause for Minnesota, while Will Ramberg grabbed 7 rebounds.
Northwestern was winning at the break before taking care of business in the second half.
Next game, Northwestern takes its act on the road to face Iowa looking for another win. For Minnesota, they head on the road to face Rutgers.
