UMass-Lowell got 23 points from Ayinde Hikim as they ran past UMass 85-80 on Thursday at William D. Mullins Center.
UMass-Lowell got 20 points from Everette Hammond and another 13 points from Allin Blunt. Ayinde Hikim contributed 7 assists, while Everette Hammond cleaned the glass with 6 rebounds.
UMass got a 19-point performance from Matt Cross, who was supported by 14 points from RJ Luis. Rahsool Diggins had 6 assists in a losing cause for UMass, while T.J. Weeks Jr. grabbed 9 rebounds.
UMass-Lowell was winning at the break before taking care of business in the second half.
UMass had a 32-26 advantage in the rebounding department as they won the battle in the paint.
