The battle between Lamar and UTRGV didn’t turn out to be much of a battle at all as UTRGV was handed a 84-52 defeat on Saturday at UTRGV Fieldhouse.
Alexis Marmolejos had 18 points for Lamar and Ja'Sean Jackson chipped in with 15 points. Errol White had 3 assists for them, while Andrew Holifield was the team's top rebounder, grabbing 7 boards.
UTRGV got 10 points from K.T. Raimey in a losing cause and another 8 points from Howie Fleming Jr.. Howie Fleming Jr. contributed 2 assists for them, while Howie Fleming Jr. had 8 rebounds.
First-half bettors who backed Lamar were victorious, as the score was 46-24 at the break.
Lamar had a 31-24 advantage in the rebounding department as they won the battle in the paint.
