VCU vs UMass Final: 80-51 - Recap
The battle between VCU and UMass didn’t turn out to be much of a battle at all as UMass was handed a 80-51 defeat on Wednesday at Stuart Siegel Center.
VCU won and also put money in the pockets of their supporters by covering the -16.5-point spread as favorites.
Max Shulga had 19 points for VCU and Joe Bamisile chipped in with 19 points. Max Shulga had 7 assists for them, while Joe Bamisile was the team's top rebounder, grabbing 6 boards.
UMass got 15 points from Daniel Rivera in a losing cause and another 10 points from Rahsool Diggins. Jayden Ndjigue contributed 2 assists for them, while Daniel Hankins-Sanford had 10 rebounds.
VCU was winning at the break before taking care of business in the second half.
VCU won the battle of the boards, outrebounding their counterparts 38-31.
VCU heads into a battle against George Mason. UMass, meanwhile, will have their next action against George Washington.
