Vermont got 20 points from TJ Hurley en route to a 67-62 victory over UAB on Monday at Bartow Arena.
Shamir Bogues had 13 points for Vermont and TJ Long chipped in with 10 points. Ileri Ayo-Faleye had 2 assists for them, while Ileri Ayo-Faleye was the team's top rebounder, grabbing 6 boards.
UAB got a 22-point performance from Yaxel Lendeborg, who was supported by 10 points from Alejandro Vasquez. Efrem Johnson had 2 assists in a losing cause for UAB, while Yaxel Lendeborg grabbed 15 rebounds.
Vermont was winning at the break before taking care of business in the second half.
UAB won the battle of the boards, outrebounding their counterparts 44-28.
