Winthrop Falls 88-66 to High Point - Recap
The battle between High Point and Winthrop didn’t turn out to be much of a battle at all as Winthrop was handed a 88-66 defeat on Saturday at Winthrop Coliseum.
Kezza Giffa had 16 points for High Point and D'Maurian Williams chipped in with 15 points. Bobby Pettiford had 6 assists for them, while Josh Ibukunoluwa was the team's top rebounder, grabbing 8 boards.
Winthrop got a 21-point performance from Kasen Harrison, who was supported by 12 points from Kelton Talford. Kasen Harrison had 2 assists in a losing cause for Winthrop, while Kelton Talford grabbed 7 rebounds.
High Point led at halftime, 43-32.
Next game, High Point takes its act home to face Charleston Southern looking for another win. For Winthrop, they head on the road to face Presbyterian.
