Edmonton Defeats Saskatchewan 42-31 - Recap

Javon Leake shredded the Saskatchewan defense for 3 TDs as the Edmonton handed the Roughriders a 42-31 defeat on Saturday at Mosaic Stadium.

Edmonton won and also put money in the pockets of their supporters by covering the +4.5-point spread as underdogs. Totals bettors, meanwhile, saw the game go OVER the closing number of 49.0.

Javon Leake rushed for 169 yards, while Justin Rankin added 60 yards in the win. Tevin Jones and Eugene Lewis added 123 and 41 receiving yards respectively.

Frankie Hickson rushed for 89 yards for Saskatchewan, while Shea Patterson added 30 yards. Shea Patterson threw for 306 yards for the Roughriders, while receivers KeeSean Johnson and Ajou Ajou had 72 and 60 yards respectively.

Edmonton outgained Saskatchewan 528-423 yards in the game, while the battle of first downs was won 22-21 by the Roughriders.

Edmonton led the time of possession tally, as the game finished as a 33:01-26:59 split in that important category.

Next game, Edmonton takes its act home to face British Columbia looking for another win. For Saskatchewan, they head on the road to face Ottawa.
