Akron Falls 38-7 to RedHawks - Recap

Brett Gabbert sliced and diced the Zips defense for 308 yards as Miami-OH handed Akron a 38-7 defeat on Saturday at Summa Field at InfoCision Stadium.

The RedHawks were a -14.0-point favorite in the win, and managed to turn a profit for their supporters. The combined score dipped UNDER the total, which closed at 55.0.

Brett Gabbert completed 18 of 27 pass attempts for 308 yards for the RedHawks in the win.

Teon Dollard rushed for 22 yards for Akron, while Michael Mathison added 3 yards. Zach Gibson threw for 141 yards for the Zips, while receivers George Qualls Jr. and Tristian Brank had 50 and 21 yards respectively.

Akron lost the offensive yardage battle to Miami-OH 416-145 yards in Saturday's game. Miami-OH had more first downs as that total ended up 17-14.

Akron led the time of possession tally, as the game finished as a 31:43-28:17 split in that important category.

Next game, Miami-OH takes its act home to face Kent State looking for another win. For Akron, they head home to face Bowling Green.
