Red Wolves vs Minutemen Final: 35-33 - Recap
Marcel Murray tore up the turf for 123 rushing yards on Saturday to lead the Red Wolves to a 35-33 win over the Minutemen at Centennial Bank Stadium.
The Red Wolves earned a straight-up victory but suffered an ATS defeat in failing to cover the -17.0-point spread. Over-Under bettors who played OVER the total of 49.0 were rewarded with a winning wager.
Marcel Murray rushed for 123 yards, while Johnnie Lang added 36 yards in the win. Champ Flemings and Seydou Traore added 44 and 41 receiving yards respectively.
Ellis Merriweather rushed for 122 yards for Massachusetts, while Greg Desrosiers Jr. added 16 yards. Garrett Dzuro threw for 129 yards for the Minutemen, while receivers George Johnson III and Cam Sullivan-Brown had 72 and 72 yards respectively.
Arkansas State was outgained by Massachusetts 475-275 yards in Saturday's match, while the important battle of first downs was won 25-11 by the Minutemen.
The time of possession battle favored Massachusetts as their offense was on the field for 41:30, longer than the 18:30 of their opponents.
