Wildcats Fall 17-9 Against Purdue - Game Recap
The Boilermakers grabbed a Week 12 victory over the Wildcats on Saturday, winning 17-9 at Ross-Ade Stadium.
Bettors who backed the Boilermakers were disappointed, as they failed to cover the closing number of -17.5. Over-Under bettors saw the total score go UNDER the closing total of 44.5.
Dylan Downing rushed for 49 yards, while Kobe Lewis added 42 yards in the win. Charlie Jones and Payne Durham added 46 and 30 receiving yards respectively.
Evan Hull rushed for 105 yards for Northwestern, while Cam Porter added 29 yards. Cole Freeman threw for 78 yards for the Wildcats, while receivers Malik Washington and Marshall Lang had 22 and 17 yards respectively.
Northwestern lost the offensive yardage battle to Purdue 299-240 yards in Saturday's game. Purdue had more first downs as that total ended up 17-14.
The time of possession battle favored Purdue as their offense was on the field for 30:36, longer than the 29:24 of their opponents.
Next game, Purdue takes its act on the road to face Indiana looking for another win. For Northwestern, they head home to face Illinois.
