LA Tech Falls 38-14 to Mustangs - Recap
LJ Johnson Jr. tore up the turf for 128 rushing yards on Saturday to lead the Mustangs to a 38-14 win over the Bulldogs at Gerald J. Ford Stadium.
The Mustangs were a -21.0-point favorite in the win, and managed to turn a profit for their supporters. The combined score dipped UNDER the total, which closed at 66.5.
LJ Johnson Jr. rushed for 128 yards, while Jaylan Knighton added 64 yards in the win. Jordan Hudson and RJ Maryland added 72 and 58 receiving yards respectively.
Charvis Thornton rushed for 24 yards for LA Tech, while Jacob Fields added 7 yards. Hank Bachmeier threw for 241 yards for the Bulldogs, while receivers Koby Duru and Kyle Maxwell had 55 and 55 yards respectively.
LA Tech was outgained by SMU 457-269 yards in Saturday's match, while the important battle of first downs was won 24-11 by the Mustangs.
SMU led the time of possession tally, as the game finished as a 33:57-26:03 split in that important category.
Next game, SMU takes its act on the road to face Oklahoma looking for another win. For LA Tech, they head home to face Northwestern State.
