Panthers Fall 31-7 Against Indiana - Game Recap
Indiana cruised to victory on Saturday, as they ran up a 31-7 score against FIU in Week 1 action at Memorial Stadium.
The Hoosiers won the battle on the scoreboard, but not at the payout window as they failed to cover the -26.5-point spread. UNDER bettors were rewarded when the final score pointed to an UNDER play.
Elijah Green rushed for 82 yards, while Ty Son Lawton added 74 yards in the win. Omar Cooper Jr. and Zach Horton added 45 and 36 receiving yards respectively.
Kejon Owens rushed for 36 yards for FIU, while Shomari Lawrence added 18 yards. Keyone Jenkins threw for 129 yards for the Panthers, while receivers Dean Patterson and Desna Washington had 28 and 21 yards respectively.
FIU lost the offensive yardage battle to Indiana 414-182 yards in Saturday's game. Indiana had more first downs as that total ended up 23-13.
Indiana led the time of possession tally, as the game finished as a 32:40-27:20 split in that important category.
Next game, Indiana takes its act home to face Western Illinois looking for another win. For FIU, they head home to face Central Michigan.
