Nebraska Defeats UTEP 40-7 - Recap
UTEP was unable to slow down Isaiah Neyor, who produced 121 receiving yards as the Cornhuskers defeated the Miners 40-7 on Saturday.
Nebraska won and also put money in the pockets of their supporters by covering the -27.5-point spread as favorites. Totals bettors, meanwhile, saw the game go UNDER the closing number of 48.5.
Emmett Johnson rushed for 71 yards, while Dante Dowdell added 55 yards in the win. Isaiah Neyor and Jahmal Banks added 121 and 61 receiving yards respectively.
Jevon Jackson rushed for 32 yards for UTEP, while Skyler Locklear added 15 yards. Skyler Locklear threw for 115 yards for the Miners, while receivers Kam Thomas and Jaden Smith had 71 and 33 yards respectively.
UTEP lost the offensive yardage battle to Nebraska 507-205 yards in Saturday's game. Nebraska had more first downs as that total ended up 30-12.
The time of possession battle favored Nebraska as their offense was on the field for 38:32, longer than the 21:28 of their opponents.
Next game, Nebraska takes its act home to face Colorado looking for another win. For UTEP, they head home to face Southern Utah.
