Illinois Defeats Kansas 23-17 - Recap

The Fighting Illini were Week 2 winners on Saturday, coming out on top of the Jayhawks by a score of 23-17 at Memorial Stadium.

Illinois was an underdog by +5.5 points and came through with an ATS victory for bettors. The game went UNDER the consensus closing total of 58.5.

Kaden Feagin rushed for 40 yards, while Ca'Lil Valentine added 25 yards in the win. Zakhari Franklin and Pat Bryant added 99 and 70 receiving yards respectively.

Devin Neal rushed for 101 yards for Kansas, while Daniel Hishaw Jr. added 39 yards. Jalon Daniels threw for 141 yards for the Jayhawks, while receivers Lawrence Arnold and Quentin Skinner had 44 and 42 yards respectively.

Illinois lost the offensive yardage battle to Kansas 327-271 yards in Saturday's game. Kansas had more first downs as that total ended up 18-14.

Illinois led the time of possession tally, as the game finished as a 30:38-29:22 split in that important category.

Next game, Illinois takes its act home to face Central Michigan looking for another win. For Kansas, they head home to face UNLV.
