Panthers Down Central Michigan 52-16 - Match Report
The battle between the Panthers and Chippewas didn't turn out to be much of a battle at all as Central Michigan was handed a 52-16 defeat on Saturday at South Dade Kia Field at Pitbull Stadium.
The Panthers were a +3.5-point underdog in the win, and managed to turn a profit for their supporters. The combined score went OVER the total, which closed at 51.5.
Kejon Owens rushed for 60 yards, while Keyone Jenkins added 42 yards in the win. Josiah Miamen and Eric Rivers added 54 and 36 receiving yards respectively.
Myles Bailey rushed for 54 yards for Central Michigan, while Nahree Biggins added 37 yards. Joe Labas threw for 151 yards for the Chippewas, while receivers Chris Parker and Jordyn Williams had 55 and 34 yards respectively.
FIU lost the offensive yardage battle to Central Michigan 369-309 yards in Saturday's game. Central Michigan had more first downs as that total ended up 22-15.
FIU lost the time of possession battle 34:18-25:42, leaving their defense on the field more than they wanted.
FIU looks to continue their winning ways next game with a battle against Florida Atlantic. Central Michigan will aim to get back on the winning track at Illinois.
