Owls Fall 33-7 Against Houston - Game Recap

Houston cruised to victory on Saturday, as they ran up a 33-7 score against Rice in Week 3 action at TDECU Stadium.

The Cougars were a -4.5-point favorite in the win, and managed to turn a profit for their supporters. The combined score dipped UNDER the total, which closed at 46.0.

Stacy Sneed rushed for 82 yards, while Re'Shaun Sanford II added 71 yards in the win. Stephon Johnson and Maliq Carr added 44 and 32 receiving yards respectively.

Dean Connors rushed for 32 yards for Rice, while Quinton Jackson added 21 yards. E.J. Warner threw for 50 yards for the Owls, while receivers Christian Francisco and Kobie Campbell had 26 and 22 yards respectively.

Rice lost the offensive yardage battle to Houston 379-159 yards in Saturday's game. Houston had more first downs as that total ended up 16-9.

Houston led the time of possession tally, as the game finished as a 31:57-28:03 split in that important category.

Next game, Houston takes its act on the road to face Cincinnati looking for another win. For Rice, they head on the road to face Army.
