USF Defeats Southern Miss 49-24 - Recap

USF got a 117-yard performance from Kelley Joiner as a key part of its 49-24 victory over the Golden Eagles on Saturday at Carlisle-Faulkner Field at M.M. Roberts Stadium.

Kelley Joiner rushed for 117 yards, while Nay'Quan Wright added 105 yards in the win. Sean Atkins and Michael Brown-Stephens added 87 and 35 receiving yards respectively.

Rodrigues Clark rushed for 85 yards for Southern Miss, while Ethan Crawford added 19 yards. Tate Rodemaker threw for 120 yards for the Golden Eagles, while receivers Tiaquelin Mims and Larry Simmons had 128 and 81 yards respectively.

Southern Miss lost the offensive yardage battle to USF 562-487 yards in Saturday's game. USF had more first downs as that total ended up 27-19.

The time of possession battle favored USF as their offense was on the field for 33:39, longer than the 26:21 of their opponents.

USF heads into a 4 battle against Miami-FL. Southern Miss, meanwhile, will have their next action against Jacksonville State.
