Bulldogs Fall 41-17 Against Toledo - Game Recap

The battle between the Rockets and Bulldogs didn't turn out to be much of a battle at all as Mississippi State was handed a 41-17 defeat on Saturday at Davis Wade Stadium at Scott Field.

Toledo was the ATS victor, as they covered the +10.5-point spread as an underdog. Over-Under bettors who played OVER the total of 57.0 were rewarded at the payout window.

Willie Shaw III rushed for 62 yards, while Tucker Gleason added 40 yards in the win. Junior Vandeross III and Jerjuan Newton added 73 and 62 receiving yards respectively.

Johnnie Daniels rushed for 59 yards for Mississippi State, while Keyvone Lee added 13 yards. Blake Shapen threw for 319 yards for the Bulldogs, while receivers Kevin Coleman Jr. and Mario Craver had 77 and 54 yards respectively.

Mississippi State lost the offensive yardage battle to Toledo 454-385 yards in Saturday's game. Toledo had more first downs as that total ended up 26-21.

The time of possession battle favored Toledo as their offense was on the field for 37:04, longer than the 22:56 of their opponents.

Next game, Toledo takes its act on the road to face WKU looking for another win. For Mississippi State, they head home to face Florida.
