Liberty Defeats UTEP 28-10 - Recap
Billy Lucas tore up the turf for 104 rushing yards on Saturday to lead the Flames to a 28-10 win over the Miners at Williams Stadium.
Liberty won on the scoreboard, but lost at the pay window as they failed to cover the -24.0-point spread. The game went UNDER the consensus closing total of 57.5.
Billy Lucas rushed for 104 yards, while Quinton Cooley added 45 yards in the win. Treon Sibley and Tyson Mobley added 77 and 36 receiving yards respectively.
Jevon Jackson rushed for 67 yards for UTEP, while Skyler Locklear added 20 yards. Skyler Locklear threw for 244 yards for the Miners, while receivers Kam Thomas and Kenny Odom had 68 and 64 yards respectively.
Liberty outgained UTEP 415-335 yards in the game, while the battle of first downs was won 19-18 by the Flames.
Liberty led the time of possession tally, as the game finished as a 30:46-29:14 split in that important category.
Liberty looks to continue their winning ways next game with a battle against East Carolina. UTEP will aim to get back on the winning track at Colorado State.
