Recap - Mustangs Defeat Louisville 34-27

SMU got a 113-yard performance from Kevin Jennings as a key part of its 34-27 victory over the Cardinals on Saturday at L&N Federal Credit Union Stadium.

SMU won and also put money in the pockets of their supporters by covering the +6.5-point spread as underdogs. Totals bettors, meanwhile, saw the game go OVER the closing number of 54.5.

Kevin Jennings rushed for 113 yards, while Brashard Smith added 52 yards in the win. RJ Maryland and Key'Shawn Smith added 83 and 53 receiving yards respectively.

Isaac Brown rushed for 117 yards for Louisville, while Donald Chaney added 21 yards. Tyler Shough threw for 329 yards for the Cardinals, while receivers Ja'Corey Brooks and Ahmari Huggins-Bruce had 121 and 82 yards respectively.

Louisville was outgained by SMU 481-461 yards in Saturday's match, while the important battle of first downs was won 25-21 by the Mustangs.

The time of possession battle favored Louisville as their offense was on the field for 34:23, longer than the 25:37 of their opponents.

Next game, SMU takes its act on the road to face Stanford looking for another win. For Louisville, they head on the road to face Virginia.
