Recap - Volunteers Defeat Florida 23-17
Tennessee got a 112-yard performance from Dylan Sampson as a key part of its 23-17 victory over the Gators on Saturday at Neyland Stadium.
The Volunteers earned a straight-up victory but suffered an ATS defeat in failing to cover the -14.0-point spread. Over-Under bettors who played UNDER the total of 55.5 were rewarded with a winning wager.
Dylan Sampson rushed for 112 yards, while DeSean Bishop added 24 yards in the win. Squirrel White and Chris Brazzell II added 71 and 49 receiving yards respectively.
Montrell Johnson Jr. rushed for 85 yards for Florida, while Jadan Baugh added 25 yards. Graham Mertz threw for 125 yards for the Gators, while receivers Chimere Dike and Arlis Boardingham had 76 and 40 yards respectively.
Tennessee was outgained by Florida 361-312 yards in Saturday's match, while the important battle of first downs was won 22-18 by the Gators.
Florida led the time of possession tally, as the game finished as a 34:56-25:04 split in that important category.
Tennessee heads into a Week 8 battle against Alabama. Florida, meanwhile, will have their next action against Kentucky.
