Toledo Rockets vs NIU Huskies Wrap - Toledo Wins 13-6
Toledo earned a 13-6 victory over NIU on Saturday in Week 8 action at Brigham Field at Huskie Stadium.
The Rockets were a +3.0-point underdog in the win, and managed to turn a profit for their supporters. The combined score dipped UNDER the total, which closed at 42.5.
Connor Walendzak rushed for 78 yards, while Sevaughn Clark added 48 yards in the win. Jerjuan Newton and Junior Vandeross III added 64 and 64 receiving yards respectively.
Gavin Williams rushed for 78 yards for NIU, while Antario Brown added 53 yards. Josh Holst threw for 210 yards for the Huskies, while receivers Cam Thompson and Trayvon Rudolph had 80 and 45 yards respectively.
Toledo lost the offensive yardage battle to NIU 391-285 yards in Saturday's game. NIU had more first downs as that total ended up 25-15.
The time of possession battle favored NIU as their offense was on the field for 36:14, longer than the 23:46 of their opponents.
Toledo looks to continue their winning ways next game with a battle against Bowling Green. NIU will aim to get back on the winning track at Ball State.
