Michigan Falls 21-7 to Fighting Illini - Recap
Illinois earned a 21-7 victory over Michigan on Saturday in Week 8 action at Memorial Stadium.
The Fighting Illini were a +5.5-point underdog in the win, and managed to turn a profit for their supporters. The combined score dipped UNDER the total, which closed at 44.0.
Aidan Laughery rushed for 54 yards, while Josh McCray added 50 yards in the win. Pat Bryant and Zakhari Franklin added 32 and 26 receiving yards respectively.
Kalel Mullings rushed for 87 yards for Michigan, while Donovan Edwards added 38 yards. Jack Tuttle threw for 208 yards for the Wolverines, while receivers Colston Loveland and Hogan Hansen had 83 and 50 yards respectively.
Illinois lost the offensive yardage battle to Michigan 322-267 yards in Saturday's game. Michigan had more first downs as that total ended up 20-18.
The time of possession battle favored Michigan as their offense was on the field for 33:34, longer than the 26:26 of their opponents.
Next game, Illinois takes its act on the road to face Oregon looking for another win. For Michigan, they head home to face Michigan State.
