NIU Huskies vs Ball State Cardinals Wrap - Ball State Wins 25-23
Ball State earned a 25-23 victory over NIU on Saturday in Week 9 action at Scheumann Stadium.
The Cardinals were a +13.5-point underdog in the win, and managed to turn a profit for their supporters. The combined score went OVER the total, which closed at 47.5.
Vaughn Pemberton rushed for 69 yards, while Braedon Sloan added 51 yards in the win. Tanner Koziol and Braedon Sloan added 78 and 47 receiving yards respectively.
Antario Brown rushed for 62 yards for NIU, while Telly Johnson Jr. added 48 yards. Ethan Hampton threw for 168 yards for the Huskies, while receivers Cam Thompson and Trayvon Rudolph had 128 and 37 yards respectively.
NIU lost the offensive yardage battle to Ball State 392-374 yards in Saturday's game. NIU had more first downs as that total ended up 22-21.
NIU lost the time of possession battle 34:50-25:10, leaving their defense on the field more than they wanted.
Ball State heads into a Week 11 battle against Miami-OH. NIU, meanwhile, will have their next action against Western Michigan.
