Recap - Volunteers Defeat Kentucky 28-18

Tennessee got a 142-yard performance from Dylan Sampson as a key part of its 28-18 victory over the Wildcats on Saturday at Neyland Stadium.

Tennessee did not, however, defeat the Wildcats against the spread, which closed at -17.5 at most sportsbooks. Totals bettors, meanwhile, saw the game go OVER the closing number of 45.5.

Dylan Sampson rushed for 142 yards, while Peyton Lewis added 24 yards in the win. Miles Kitselman and Bru McCoy added 97 and 56 receiving yards respectively.

Jamarion Wilcox rushed for 102 yards for Kentucky, while Demie Sumo-Karngbaye added 38 yards. Brock Vandagriff threw for 123 yards for the Wildcats, while receivers Dane Key and Ja'Mori Maclin had 43 and 32 yards respectively.

Kentucky was outgained by Tennessee 477-360 yards in Saturday's match, while the important battle of first downs was won 29-19 by the Volunteers.

Kentucky led the time of possession tally, as the game finished as a 30:32-29:28 split in that important category.

Next game, Tennessee takes its act home to face Mississippi State looking for another win. For Kentucky, they head home to face Murray State.
