Recap - Thundering Herd Defeat Louisiana-Monroe 28-23
Marshall earned a 28-23 victory over Louisiana-Monroe on Saturday in Week 10 action at Joan C. Edwards Stadium.
Marshall did not, however, defeat the Warhawks against the spread, which closed at -10.5 at most sportsbooks. Totals bettors, meanwhile, saw the game go OVER the closing number of 47.5.
Jordan Houston rushed for 80 yards, while Ethan Payne added 51 yards in the win. Chuck Montgomery and Christian Fitzpatrick added 68 and 44 receiving yards respectively.
Ahmad Hardy rushed for 207 yards for Louisiana-Monroe, while James Jones added 50 yards. Aidan Armenta threw for 149 yards for the Warhawks, while receivers James Jones and Tyler Griffin had 43 and 31 yards respectively.
Marshall lost the offensive yardage battle to Louisiana-Monroe 388-364 yards in Saturday's game. Marshall had more first downs as that total ended up 20-17.
Louisiana-Monroe led the time of possession tally, as the game finished as a 32:27-27:33 split in that important category.
Next game, Marshall takes its act on the road to face Southern Miss looking for another win. For Louisiana-Monroe, they head home to face Texas State.
