Tennessee Defeats Mississippi State 33-14 - Recap

Tennessee got a 149-yard performance from Dylan Sampson as a key part of its 33-14 victory over the Bulldogs on Saturday at Neyland Stadium.

Tennessee won on the scoreboard, but lost at the pay window as they failed to cover the -25.5-point spread. The game went UNDER the consensus closing total of 62.5.

Dylan Sampson rushed for 149 yards, while Peyton Lewis added 44 yards in the win. Dont'e Thornton Jr. and Squirrel White added 104 and 63 receiving yards respectively.

Davon Booth rushed for 125 yards for Mississippi State, while Johnnie Daniels added 63 yards. Michael Van Buren Jr. threw for 92 yards for the Bulldogs, while receivers Kevin Coleman Jr. and Mario Craver had 68 and 13 yards respectively.

Mississippi State lost the offensive yardage battle to Tennessee 452-271 yards in Saturday's game. Tennessee had more first downs as that total ended up 25-15.

Mississippi State lost the time of possession battle 34:18-25:42, leaving their defense on the field more than they wanted.

Next game, Tennessee takes its act on the road to face Georgia looking for another win. For Mississippi State, they head home to face Missouri.
