Akron Zips vs NIU Huskies Recap - Huskies Win 29-16
Telly Johnson Jr. tore up the turf for 104 rushing yards on Wednesday to lead the Huskies to a 29-16 win over the Zips at Brigham Field at Huskie Stadium.
The Huskies won the battle on the scoreboard, but not at the payout window as they failed to cover the -14.0-point spread. OVER bettors were rewarded when the final score pointed to an OVER play.
Telly Johnson Jr. rushed for 104 yards, while Gavin Williams added 101 yards in the win. Dane Pardridge and Gavin Williams added 39 and 35 receiving yards respectively.
Jordon Simmons rushed for 56 yards for Akron, while Charles Kellom added 5 yards. Ben Finley threw for 205 yards for the Zips, while receivers Adrian Norton and Conner Cravaack had 57 and 47 yards respectively.
Akron was outgained by NIU 439-255 yards in Wednesday's match, while the important battle of first downs was won 19-14 by the Zips.
The time of possession battle favored NIU as their offense was on the field for 33:32, longer than the 26:31 of their opponents.
