Tar Heels Down Wake Forest 31-24 - Match Report

The Demon Deacons had no answer for Omarion Hampton on Saturday as the Tar Heels rolled to a 31-24 win at Kenan Stadium.

The Tar Heels won the battle on the scoreboard, but not at the payout window as they failed to cover the -10.5-point spread. UNDER bettors were rewarded when the final score pointed to an UNDER play.

Omarion Hampton rushed for 244 yards, while Davion Gause added 19 yards in the win. J.J. Jones and John Copenhaver added 35 and 33 receiving yards respectively.

Demond Claiborne rushed for 95 yards for Wake Forest, while Hank Bachmeier added 12 yards. Michael Kern threw for 172 yards for the Demon Deacons, while receivers Taylor Morin and Donavon Greene had 70 and 58 yards respectively.

Wake Forest lost the offensive yardage battle to North Carolina 362-354 yards in Saturday's game. North Carolina had more first downs as that total ended up 21-19.

The time of possession battle favored North Carolina as their offense was on the field for 35:01, longer than the 24:59 of their opponents.

North Carolina looks to continue their winning ways next game with a battle against Boston College. Wake Forest will aim to get back on the winning track at Miami-FL.
