Liberty Flames vs Massachusetts Minutemen Wrap - Liberty Wins 35-34

The Minutemen had no answer for Quinton Cooley on Saturday as the Flames rolled to a 35-34 win at McGuirk Alumni Stadium.

Liberty did not, however, defeat the Minutemen against the spread, which closed at -16.5 at most sportsbooks. Totals bettors, meanwhile, saw the game go OVER the closing number of 51.5.

Quinton Cooley rushed for 147 yards, while Billy Lucas added 95 yards in the win. Treon Sibley and Jacob Jenkins added 34 and 27 receiving yards respectively.

Jalen John rushed for 119 yards for Massachusetts, while Ahmad Haston added 62 yards. AJ Hairston threw for 163 yards for the Minutemen, while receivers Jakobie Keeney-James and T.Y. Harding had 75 and 59 yards respectively.

Massachusetts outgained Liberty 426-423 yards in the game, while the battle of first downs was won 27-26 by the Flames.

Massachusetts led the time of possession tally, as the game finished as a 32:10-27:50 split in that important category.

Next game, Liberty takes its act home to face WKU looking for another win. For Massachusetts, they head on the road to face Georgia.
