Recap - Zips Defeat Kent State 38-17

The Golden Flashes had no answer for Jordon Simmons on Tuesday as the Zips rolled to a 38-17 win at Dix Stadium.

Bettors who backed the Zips were also rewarded, as they covered the closing number as a favorite of -10.0 at sportsbooks. Over-Under bettors saw the total score go OVER the closing total of 49.0.

Jordon Simmons rushed for 113 yards, while Charles Kellom added 104 yards in the win. Adrian Norton and Charles Kellom added 107 and 44 receiving yards respectively.

Ky Thomas rushed for 52 yards for Kent State, while Chrishon McCray added 19 yards. Tommy Ulatowski threw for 229 yards for the Golden Flashes, while receivers Luke Floriea and Chrishon McCray had 103 and 93 yards respectively.

Kent State lost the offensive yardage battle to Akron 527-281 yards in Tuesday's game. Akron had more first downs as that total ended up 28-9.

Akron led the time of possession tally, as the game finished as a 36:32-23:28 split in that important category.

Akron heads into a 14 battle against Toledo. Kent State, meanwhile, will have their next action against Buffalo.
