Recap - Jaguars Defeat Southern Miss 35-14

The Golden Eagles had no answer for Fluff Bothwell on Saturday as the Jaguars rolled to a 35-14 win at Carlisle-Faulkner Field at M.M. Roberts Stadium.

South Alabama did not, however, defeat the Golden Eagles against the spread, which closed at -23.5 at most sportsbooks. Totals bettors, meanwhile, saw the game go UNDER the closing number of 54.0.

Fluff Bothwell rushed for 104 yards, while Kentrel Bullock added 54 yards in the win. Jamaal Pritchett and Jeremiah Webb added 102 and 50 receiving yards respectively.

Rodrigues Clark rushed for 115 yards for Southern Miss, while Kenyon Clay added 48 yards. Tate Rodemaker threw for 108 yards for the Golden Eagles, while receivers Kenyon Clay and Davis Dalton had 39 and 24 yards respectively.

Southern Miss lost the offensive yardage battle to South Alabama 380-306 yards in Saturday's game. Southern Miss had more first downs as that total ended up 21-17.

Southern Miss led the time of possession tally, as the game finished as a 38:48-21:12 split in that important category.

Next game, South Alabama takes its act home to face Texas State looking for another win. For Southern Miss, they head on the road to face Troy.
