Penn State Defeats SMU 38-10 - Recap
The battle between the Nittany Lions and Mustangs didn't turn out to be much of a battle at all as SMU was handed a 38-10 defeat on Saturday at Beaver Stadium.
Bettors who backed the Nittany Lions were also rewarded, as they covered the closing number as a favorite of -9.0 at sportsbooks. Over-Under bettors saw the total score go UNDER the closing total of 52.0.
Nicholas Singleton rushed for 90 yards, while Kaytron Allen added 70 yards in the win. Harrison Wallace III and Tyler Warren added 48 and 33 receiving yards respectively.
Brashard Smith rushed for 62 yards for SMU, while LJ Johnson Jr. added 26 yards. Kevin Jennings threw for 195 yards for the Mustangs, while receivers Roderick Daniels Jr. and Jordan Hudson had 64 and 40 yards respectively.
SMU was outgained by Penn State 325-253 yards in Saturday's match, while the important battle of first downs was won 21-18 by the Mustangs.
SMU lost the time of possession battle 31:12-28:48, leaving their defense on the field more than they wanted.
