Denver Defeats Houston 16-9 - Recap
Courtland Sutton inflicted damage on the Houston secondary, getting 122 receiving yards as Denver defeated the Texans 16-9 at Empower Field at Mile High.
The Broncos won the battle on the scoreboard, but not at the payout window as they failed to cover the -10.5-point spread. UNDER bettors were rewarded when the final score pointed to an UNDER play.
Javonte Williams rushed for 75 yards, while Melvin Gordon III added 47 yards in the win. Courtland Sutton and Tyrie Cleveland added 122 and 28 receiving yards respectively.
Dameon Pierce rushed for 69 yards for Houston, while Jeff Driskel added 10 yards. Davis Mills threw for 177 yards for the Texans, while receivers Nico Collins and Brandin Cooks had 58 and 54 yards respectively.
Houston lost the offensive yardage battle to Denver 350-234 yards in Sunday's game. Denver had more first downs as that total ended up 20-15.
The time of possession battle favored Denver as their offense was on the field for 32:33, longer than the 27:27 of their opponents.
Denver looks to continue their winning ways next game with a battle against the 49ers. The Texans will aim to get back on the winning track at Chicago.
