Washington Defeats Cleveland 17-15 - Recap
The Browns came up short against the Commanders in Pre-Season Week 1 action on Friday, falling 17-15 at Cleveland Browns Stadium.
Washington won and also put money in the pockets of their supporters by covering the +2.5-point spread as underdogs. Totals bettors, meanwhile, saw the game go UNDER the closing number of 37.5.
Chris Rodriguez Jr. rushed for 39 yards, while Jacoby Brissett added 16 yards in the win. Byron Pringle and Cole Turner added 32 and 31 receiving yards respectively.
Demetric Felton rushed for 31 yards for Cleveland, while Deshaun Watson added 20 yards. Dorian Thompson-Robinson threw for 102 yards for the Browns, while receivers Austin Watkins Jr. and Miller Forristall had 71 and 66 yards respectively.
Washington lost the offensive yardage battle to Cleveland 374-276 yards in Friday's game. Cleveland had more first downs as that total ended up 23-17.
The time of possession battle favored Cleveland as their offense was on the field for 31:35, longer than the 28:25 of their opponents.
Next game, Washington takes its act home to face Baltimore looking for another win. For Cleveland, they head on the road to face Philadelphia.
