Vegas earned a 3-2 victory over Montreal on Monday, but needed a shootout to do it at T-Mobile Arena.

William Carrier, and Paul Cotter each scored for the Golden Knights in the victory. Cotter opened the scoring for Vegas.

Sam Montembeault stopped 24 of 26 shots for the Canadiens, but it wasn't enough to earn the victory.
On the power play, Vegas went 1-for-3, while the Canadiens were 0-for-4 with the man advantage.
Vegas lost the shots on goal battle to Montreal by a margin of 39-26.
Next game, Vegas takes its act home to face Winnipeg looking for another win. For Montreal, they head on the road to face Arizona.
