steele and steel

Las Vegas - Not thrilled with the Cubs early 17-18 record (not including last night), but they do have an early Cy Young candidate by the name of Justin Steele. With a 5-0 record and a 1.45 ERA, Steele is certainly a name to keep in your back pocket. His overall numbers are very sweet, but his work at Wrigley Field borders on STUPID! He has started four games at the Friendly Confines and has allowed only 2 earned runs over 24 innings which works out to an INVISIBLE 0.75 ERA. For those that have followed the Cubs, it's not a big surprise. Why? Because he closed out last season with six starts, giving up just 3 earned over 31 innings for another RIDONKULOUS 0.87 ERA. And just to complete the picture, he posted 45 Ks over that 31 inning stretch. Now you KNOW why I'm buying Steele!
