College Football National Championship Odds
The college football season concludes on Monday night with the national championship game between the Washington Huskies and the Michigan Wolverines at NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas. And at the Bovada Sportsbook the Wolverines are listed as 4.5-point favorites for the title game.
Michigan was undefeated this season at 14-0 straight up with an 8-5-1 record against the spread. In their college football playoff semifinal matchup in the Rose Bowl they edged the Alabama Crimson Tide 27-20 in overtime as 2-point favorites.
Prior to their win over Alabama the Wolverines had been an awful wager in bowl games with six straight losses both SU and ATS and a 1-8 SU and 2-7 ATS record in their last nine. As bowl games favorites they’re 1-4 SU and ATS in their last five.

Underdog Washington also undefeated on the season
Washington was also undefeated this season at 14-0 SU with a 7-6-1 record ATS. In the college football playoff semifinals they faced the Texas Longhorns in the Sugar Bowl and delivered a 37-31 upset as 3.5-point underdogs. The Huskies have been a solid wager as underdogs with five straight wins.
As bowl game underdogs the Huskies have won two in a row both SU and ATS, and in their last 10 they’re 4-6 SU and 7-3 ATS. They were 5-0 SU and 3-2 ATS on the road this season, and versus Big Ten opponents they’re 6-3 SU and 5-4 ATS in their last nine.
Michigan and Washington have faced off three times in the last 23 years with the Wolverines winning two out of three SU while going 1-2 ATS. Their last matchup was in September 2021 which Michigan won 31-10 as 6.5-point favorites.
In the last five national championship games the favorite was 4-1 SU and ATS. For totals bettors, four of the last five title games have gone OVER the posted total. This season Washington was 7-7 on the OVER/UNDER, while Michigan was 8-6 OVER, which includes going 8-2 OVER in their last 10 games.
