NFL Week 16 Slate: Best Betting Matchups

It could be a playoff preview when the Green Bay Packers visit the Arizona Cardinals in Week 16 of the NFL season.

The Cardinals are a 4.5-point favorite at online sportsbook Bovada as they look for their eighth straight win. Last week the Cardinals routed Philadelphia 40-17 as a 3.5-point favorite. David Johnson had a monster game with 187 rushing yards and three touchdowns on 29 carries. There was some bad news for Arizona, though, as safety Tyronn Mathieu was lost for the season with a torn ACL.

Green Bay recorded their third straight win SU and ATS last week after defeating Oakland 30-20 as a 4-point favorite. Aaron Rodgers passed for 204 yards with a touchdown and an interception in the win.

The Cardinals have won three in a row at home, but dropped four straight ATS. The Packers are on a three-game winning streak on the road and they covered in all three wins. In their last nine versus the Cardinals the Packers are a strong 7-2 SU and 6-3 ATS.

The AFC Wild Card picture could become a little clearer this weekend when the 9-5 New York Jets host New England and 9-5 Pittsburgh visits Baltimore.

The Patriots are a 3.5-point road favorite at Bovada as they look to take down the Jets for the second time this season. In Week 7 New England defeated the Jets 30-23 as a 7-point favorite. Last week they easily got past Tennessee 33-16 as 14-point chalk.

The Jets edged Dallas 19-16 as a 3-point favorite last week. That was their fourth straight win with a 3-0-1 ATS record.

In their last nine games against the Jets the Pats are 8-1 SU but only 3-5-1 ATS. In their last seven games as a road favorite New England is 6-1 SU and 3-4 ATS, while the Jets are a 1-4 SU and 3-2 ATS in their last five as a home underdog.

The Steelers are heavily favored as an 10.5-point favorite at Bovada versus Baltimore. Pittsburgh got past Denver 34-27 as a 7-point favorite last week as Antonio Brown hauled in 16 passes for 189 yards and two touchdowns. With the win the Steelers are 5-1 SU and 3-2-1 ATS in their last six games.

The Ravens were thumped 34-14 by Kansas City last week as a 6.5-point underdog. At home this season Baltimore is 2-5 SU and 0-6-1 ATS and they’re an awful 0-9-1 ATS in their last 10 games.

Earlier this season Baltimore defeated Pittsburgh, without Ben Roethlisberger, 23-20 as a 3-point favorite. In their last six at home versus the Steelers Baltimore is 4-2 SU and 2-4 ATS.
