NFL Week 7 Betting Preview and Analysis

The injury bug has bitten the Pittsburgh Steelers at the wrong time, as they get set for a tough home showdown with the New England Patriots this weekend.

The Steelers are coming off an embarrassing 30-15 loss to the Miami Dolphins last week as a 7.5-point favorite. Even worse, the Steelers lost quarterback Ben Roethlisberger to a knee injury in that game, leaving Landry Jones at QB. That’s why the Steelers are a 7-point home underdog this weekend at online sportsbook Bovada.

New England defeated the Cincinnati Bengals 35-17 as a 7.5-point favorite last week to improve to 5-1 straight up and against the spread in their last six games. In their last six games as a road favorite the Patriots are a disappointing 2-4 SU and they’re 2-6 ATS in their last eight games. The Steelers are 4-1 SU and 4-0-1 ATS in their last five games as a home underdog.

The Patriots have dominated this matchup at 9-3 SU and 8-3-1 ATS in their last 12 versus Pittsburgh. That includes a 5-2 SU and ATS mark in their last seven in Pittsburgh.

In the NFC North old rivals clash when the Green Bay Packers host the Chicago Bears as a 9.5-point favorite on Thursday night.

The Packers struggled last week in a 30-16 loss to the Dallas Cowboys as a 5.5-point favorite. They’re now 1-3-1 ATS in their last five games and at home they’re 3-4 SU and 2-4-1 ATS in their last seven.

Chicago is 1-6 SU and ATS in their last seven games following a 17-16 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars as a 2.5-point favorite. Green Bay has won four of their last five versus Chicago both SU and ATS and they’re 10-2 SU and 9-3 ATS in their last 12.

Finally, in the AFC East the Buffalo Bills look to extend their winning streak versus the Miami Dolphins as a 3-point road favorite this week. The Bills have won four in a row SU and ATS after crushing the San Francisco 49ers 45-16 as a 7.5-point favorite.

Miami collected their second win of the season SU and ATS last week by shocking Pittsburgh. The Dolphins, though, are still only 3-7 SU and ATS in their last 10 games and in their last five as a home underdog they are 2-3 SU and ATS.
