Orioles Look to Stay Hot and Beat the Mets

The Baltimore Orioles are 4-0 over their last four games and 15-7 over their last 22 games. The Orioles will look to stay hot this week in interleague play hosting the New York Mets in a three-game series starting on Tuesday.

Baltimore is a slight underdog at -105 in Tuesday's series opener at online sportsbook Bovada. The Orioles send Kevin Gausman to the mound to take on Jacob deGrom and the New York Mets at -115. The Mets have lost three straight games after getting swept by the Pittsburgh Pirates, but they went 11-2 in their previous 13 games before that. The Orioles have stayed in the fight for a playoff spot despite the strong play of Toronto and the New York Yankees.

The San Francisco Giants are just three games back of the Los Angeles Dodgers in the NL West, and they'll try to gain ground this week against the best team in the National League. The Cardinals are a -140 favorite in Tuesday's game after winning the first game of the three-game series 2-1 on Monday. Lance Lynn squares off against Ryan Vogelsong and the Giants at +120 on Tuesday. San Francisco is 9-5 in its last 14 games against the Cardinals.

The NFL preseason continues on Thursday night with two games on the betting board. In the earlier game, the Detroit Lions visit the Washington Redskins after both teams came away with wins in their preseason openers. Washington edged out a win over Cleveland last week while the Lions were dominant defensively in a 23-3 win over the New York Jets. The Redskins are a 2.5-point favorite at home.

Cleveland is also a 2.5-point favorite at home in its Thursday night game against the Buffalo Bills. Both the Browns and the Bills lost in their preseason openers with the Bills falling pray to a touchdown and a two-point conversion in the closing moments of a 25-24 loss to the Carolina Panthers. With last week's loss, Buffalo fell to 1-7 SU and ATS over its last eight preseason games including a current stretch of 0-4 SU and ATS.
