Sports Betting Week: Cavaliers Big Chalk

The Toronto Raptors will make their Eastern Conference Finals debut on Tuesday night, but they’re big underdogs against the Cleveland Cavaliers on the NBA betting lines.

At online sportsbook Bovada the oddsmakers have pegged the Cavaliers as a -1200 favorite in the series. Toronto is a +650 underdog despite some recent success against Cleveland. During the regular season the Raptors were 2-1 straight up and against the spread versus the Cavaliers. On the road against the Cavaliers the Raptors are 4-2 SU and 3-3 ATS in their last six and 6-4 SU and 7-3 ATS in their last 10.

The Western Conference Finals tip off on Monday night with the Oklahoma City Thunder visiting the Golden State Warriors. The Warriors enter the series as a -160 NBA championship favorite at Bovada, so obviously they’re a -400 favorite to win this series. The Thunder are a +300 underdog but that’s nothing new as they were also the underdog against San Antonio. Game 2 of the series will be on Wednesday night.

On the ice the puck drops on Game 2 of the Western Conference final on Tuesday night in St. Louis. The St. Louis Blues defeated the San Jose Sharks 2-1 in Game 1. That caused the oddsmakers are Bovada to make them a -220 series favorite. San Jose is a +180 underdog, and they’re only 2-4 in their last six games against St. Louis.

The Eastern Conference final returns to the ice on Monday night. The Tampa Bay Lightning hold a 1-0 series lead following a 3-1 win in the series opener. Despite that the Lightning are a +110 series underdog at Bovada. The Penguins are favored at -130. Game 3 follows in Tampa Bay on Wednesday night.

In MLB this week National League East rivals face off for the first time this season when the New York Mets host the Washington Nationals. The Mets were 11-8 against Washington last season, but they were only 5-5 at home.

Also on the MLB schedule this week, the Los Angeles Angels and Los Angeles Dodgers meet up in another round of the battle of Los Angeles. The Dodgers have dominated the battle lately, going 5-1 versus the Angels last season, and at home they’ve won four straight and six of seven.

This week’s PGA Tour stop is the AT&T Byron Nelson. The Bovada favorite is Jordan Spieth at +700 followed by Dustin Johnson at +900. Defending champion Steven Bowditch is a big underdog to repeat at +25,000.
