2021 draft

Las Vegas - So, we just finished three strange yet glorious days of the first-ever virtual NFL draft, and of course, odds are up for the 2021 draft. And, YEA, you can throw down.

The top two picks mirror the odds to win the Heisman Trophy. Clemson's Trevor Lawrence is the favorite for the Heisman, and also the favorite to go #1 in the draft at 1/2 odds. The second choice for the Heisman is Ohio State QB Justin Fields and he is 3/1 to go #2 in the NFL draft. QBs and defensive players gobbled up eight of the first 10 picks in the 2020 draft, with two offensive lineman jumping in for the other two. Here's a name you might not have heard, but will be top five, maybe even #3 in the next draft, Oregon's OT Penei Sewell. This kid won the Outland Trophy in 2019, given annually to the best interior lineman in the country, and he was ONLY a sophomore. Just in case your curious, Sewell is from American Samoa, stands 6'6" and tips the scale at a feathery 331 pounds. Penei was the top-graded offensive lineman in the nation with an overall grade of 95.9. His 95.5 run-block grade also topped the country while his 92.2 pass-blocking grade ranked second. Sewell slots in at 4/1 odds to be the number #3 pick in the first round. Rounding out the odds for the WAY-TOO-EARLY top five draft picks for next year are, Miami Hurricanes QB D'Eriq King at 15/1, and Penn State DE/LB Micah Parsons at 20/1. But if your looking for a long shot, and we always are, try Alabama RB Najee Harris at around 80/1. Why not. Nick Saban has coached up two Heisman winners in Tuscaloosa, Derrick Henry in 2015 and Mark Ingram Jr. in 2009. Gimme a quarter on Najee!!!
